Today.Wednesday.
Unlike my dear Ed, I ain't crazy about blogging- hence the discontinued entry dates.
Yesterday.
Took leave and went back to school for design school's annual 'GENESIS MEETING'.
Our director is Moses. Moses and Genesis. So biblical. OMFG. Honestly I think Moses is trying to be overcreative to compensate for his lack of creativity. I mean, how can an engineering graduate lead a design school..
We designers function/think differently from engineers (actually, EVERYONE).
Anyway me and my friends left halfway. Oh, did I mentioned that there are so many pretty freshies this year?

With that said, I spotted Rahima Rahim of Spore Idol 1.
I ABSOLUTELY CANNOT STAND HER ATTITUDE.
Really mother-of-a-fucker-act-big bitch man. She is yesterday news, yet acts as if everyone should swoon at her feet and cry out her name.
GOSH.
At the start of the Genesis Meeting, a band started to play. Rahima-the-idiot made some aweful bawling sounds when the lead singer finished singing.

But perhaps the most embarrasing thing is the fact that she is taking my course. She is gonna be the joke of the day/year/century.
She already is among my peers. Damn embarrased to be known as her senior.
Diverting to another issue:
I misread my timetable. 1 month holiday instead of 2.
To my disappointment.
Did my adding of subjects yesterday. Realised I am in a precarious situation now because I still need a few more subjects to graduate.
After adding, I have retail design from 6-9pm and JAPANESE from 6-9pm.
I HATE JAPANESE. I am NOT looking forward to it.

Friday-i.love.my.vm.internship!
Today.Friday.
Falling in love with what I am doing. I love going to work. When I'm on the bus, my mind is constantly thinking of new ideas for displays.
Found out that I have 2 months holiday after my internship. Will try to ask whether I can join John Little as a temporory Visual Merchandiser for 2 months. If not then whether they can extend my attachment. Or better still, send me to Robinsons :)

2 weeks of SIP is finally over :)
6 weeks to go.
Honestly though, I kinda enjoy working at JL than studying.
Maybe its because I don't really fancy what I am studying now.
There is this psycho aunty promoter who keeps on messing up our visual displays. She refuses to listen to us, and insists on doing things her way.
Damn bitch.
My blood pressure is at an all time high.
Can you imagine how its feels to complete something that zaps your energy, walk away, turn around and come back only to find it rearranged?
That psycho lady.. AGRR!

thurs-tired
Today.Thursday.
I am honestly feeling damn tired ever since I started working. 2 cups of coffee ain't enough to keep me awake throughout the day.
And I realised I keep getting hunger pangs despite eating regularly. Might be due to the low calorie intake each meal, or the work. Damn..
Work can be damn challenging at times. Like today, I totally cracked my head(brain) to come up with ideas to do the visual diplay for the tumbleware tables and kitchen appliances tables.
We celebrated Anna's birthday today and my colleagues ordered Oishi Pizza and chicken wings.
I'm so proud of myself. I didn't eat anything despite all the pressuring and the nice aroma of the pizza.
If only they knew how much I wanted to eat the pizza! In the past I could eat a whole pizza at one go! Haven eaten a pizza in.. 7 months man..
I think I am crazy to agree to work at Cartel this saturday.. WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING CHRIS?!?!
I am already so bloody tired. I NEED A REST!
Thank God its only ONE saturday. So what the hell lah.

Today.Saturday.
Went out with Mavis yesterday at Changi Airport. Needed a professional counsellor to talk to, and Mavis has always been there for me all these years, offering advice and support.
We sidetracked to jobs and I told her I am considering joining the Army or maybe Police Force. She said females are at a disadvantaged because you will never get to command a major task or weapon.
She suggested working as a Prison Warden at Changi Prison. Pay is good, free medical, iron rice bowl.
I kinda freaked out cause I thought shit lah wad if a prisoner threaten to take my life, or if I forget to lock up the door..
Too much prison break :D
But she said Singapore prison is very orderly and is not like what you'll see on TV so its safe (to a certain extent I believe.. haha).
So I am honestly considering this job.
Went to church at night with her. Met my 3 close friends whom I haven seen in a long time (xcept Aretha).
Was looking through travel ads. I am planning to go to Australia to train under Ray Kelly for a week, stay in a health and wellness camp for 5 days, or alternatively go to New Zealand Queenstown for extreme sports, after my diploma graduation next April.
Anyone interested to join me? Never too early to plan :)
Also I have been looking around for a personal trainer or boxing/muay thai class. Need more cardio which I have been neglecting.. only doing cardio 2/3 times a week.. no wonder I'm gaining back some weight :(
Got a couple of potential places that I can afford once my pay comes.. -Excited-

Today.Thursday.
First week of SIP Attachment is over!!!
7 weeks more to go.
These 2 days I finally have something to do. Chai, the Household department visual merchandiser (vmer), is in charge of me now.
And finally I get to do stuff and learn stuff :)

Cool huh.. Me and Chai came up with the concept together.
Today I saw how Chai and another guy went about fixing the fixture on the wall so another new knowledge.
Then I saw how Chai came up with ideas to hang towels and curtains. I'll take some pics on Monday and post it online :)
Found out from my other friends that some of them are doing quite useless stuff e.g giving out flyers.
So even though I don't have alot of stuff to do, but at least when I do them I actually learn something.
Which is pretty weird cos I am not a vmer in the first place but I am probably learning more than some of my friends who are majoring in VM.
Anyway I have already decided to find a job at IKEA as a Visual Merchandiser. If there is no job opening at IKEA when I graduate, then I'll come back to John Little to work.
Working at JL has alot of perks. Staff discount of 25% at JL, Robinsons, Marks and Spencer; Free medical treatment at Raffles Group Hospitals.
Chai was saying it'll be easier for me to get a job under the Robinson Group company because I am doing my internship at JL.

Today.Tuesday.
It is another boring day at work for me.
Morning: Followed my supervisor to the ladies department to arrange mannequins. Then just stood around as she adjusted the layout.
Went back to office and continued reading my New Paper and my colleague's Style Magazine.
Lunch for an hour. Was so bored I went to the mens department. I see some nice shirts :)
Afternoon: Continued slacking in the office. Got so bored I decided to walk around John Little. So basically I am being paid to.. shop? Haha.
Then helped out a colleague who is in charge of the household department with the rearrangement of the fixtures layout.
Found out that my lesbian supervisor is A 32 YEAR OLD DIVORCEE!!!!!
OMFG!!!
Has 2 kids even! Oldest 10 years old!!
And I thought only on The L Word that you get to know about lesbians with kids and a past..

monday-start of sip
Today.Monday.
FIRST DAY OF SIP ATTACHMENT TO JOHN LITTLE.
Reached Specialist Centre damn early, like 8.20am when I was only supposed to report at 9am.
Couldn't find the lady I was supposed to report to. A staff said she apparently have not reported yet for work.
So I waited.
And waited.
10am and still no sight of her.
So I asked the security guard whether has he seen Catherine (the lady).
And he said.. "Oh yeah she's on the 5th floor."

I wasted 1 hour hanging at the lobby just because of an idiot!
Anyway, after passing me from one person to another, I finally got a supervisor.

Didn't do anything today AT ALL.
Went down to Expo because John Little is having the JL Mega Sale. So I followed the Visual Merchandising team down via cab.
DID NOTHING THE WHOLE DAY.
All I did was read Lime mag, gossip, talk to my colleagues, look at the products on sale, look at girls.
My colleagues are damn funny though.

Sat-last day of work
Today.Saturday.
Last day of work at Cartel. I don't know whether Im gonna come back and work after my SIP.
Hafta see how busy I'm gonna be with my 3rd year stuff..
Bought a slice of cake for Ed, Cheng and the dishwasher guy whom I call "Abang" as in older brother, since I prolly ain't gonna work with them anymore.
Totally shocked when Abang almost teared when I gave him the cake.
Like he didn't expect it at all and was damn touched.
He said he is going back to Sabah, Malaysia in May. So even if I return I won't see him again.
Nice fella despite the fact he likes to make fun of my hair and looks.
