Its a lazy sunday at home, doing nothing but watching clips from the show "Out of the blue" on youtube - its an aussie serial show, and I watched it for the lesbian couple Peta and Poppy, one of whom is seriously sooooo cute I could just die!

Besides swooning over Daisy Betts's character Peta Lee, I have been thinking of what I would bring should I go abroad to study.

The main problem in going abroad would be to find cheap and good food. I mean here you can find food at $2.50 or sometimes even less.

Thus, I think, my luggage would mainly consists of:

1) Clothes (I need to go to clothes anonymous!)

2) Food. I need my asian seasoning (not that I eat them here, just that in case ya know.. I miss chinese food or something) like chicken rice essence, maggi mee, all the different kinds of mee, biscuits bought from thailand, breakfast cereals.. actually everything. Frozen food, though I can't figure out how to keep it frozen on the long plane ride.

3) All the daily neccesities in huge bulk.

I just saw this cute lesbian wedding youtube clip and I WANNA GET MARRIED!

I'll take that back. My trip to Hatyai is 60% prepared because twin might have exams on her last week of school prior to her december hols.

No worries, mate, I understand. Screw the exams though.. Haha.

ITS THE WEEKEND!

I've been waiting ALL week for the weekends. This week is Crazy (with a capital C!) and work is like a mad race.

I work under 3 merchandisers, so can you imagine when not 1, not 2, but all 3 of them have something for you to do and they want it done now? I have only a pair of hands, my lovely ladies.

Everyone is rushing April May 2009 summer collection. It is in the production stage now, so it explains the craziness.

Its weird, but the busier I am, the more satisfied I feel. Yes, I'm a freak, don't we all already know that?

This december its gonna be the start of something new for me. I'm so excited, and I hope it turns out well.

Talking of something new... I'm still deciding whether I should admit into Uni in June 09 or Jan 10..

Opinions, anyone?

So my trip to Hat yai is sorta 80% finalized already! Yay! Will leave Spore on the 9th of December, probably be back end of December of beginning of January.

Here is Barack Obama- Captain America to the rescue! Defeat Sarah Palin and McCain!

I found some pictures of celebrities when they were young. Jeez you probably can't even tell its the same person! Some look cute, some looks so manufactured now.

What a hair!

Fat crack head

CUTE!

This boy is seriously screwed in his head.

WHERE ARE THE BOOBS?!?!

I couldn't believe this ugly child turn out to be such a gorgeous lady... Plastic baby, plastic.

Still the same old look.

Another fat child

In case you have been living under a rock, US is going through a period of economic downturn.

Just a few days ago, Lehman brothers and AIG were declared bankrupt.

It is worrying because Singapore is 100% to be affected. It is just the degree of the impact. Worrysome because if it ends up like the 98 crisis, everything will be a disaster.

My plans to further my studies might suffer a knock. I only hope the crisis won't be too long, and too big an impact.

I couldn't stand my 'long hair' anymore.

So i went for a haircut today.

Its a love-hate look. Especially when I don't want to look like a man, yet hate the mesiness of 'long hair'.

Saturday! But I didn't get a chance to sleep in late, because..

I'M OFF TO CHECK OUT IDP!

Well basically IDP is an australian education representative in Spore. So at 8.30am, I woke up and met Jan and Estee and headed down to, what is really, a middle-of-nowhere location.

After walking past countless condominiums in the heart of Orchard Road, past the Shangri-la that looked like it needed a new coat of paint.. past the many trees and expats..

Finally we reached.

After filling in a form, I waited for a consultant. Well my consultant was this gay man (I suspect.. he had the 'broken wrist' syndrome!), who was also the director of the company. Well, the best get served by the best, no? LOL.

So basically, after what seems like an hour of consultation (according to Esther, David and Jan, who waited for me outside- starved), I think I have finally settled on a particular university- University of South Australia.

Even though it is not in the G8, however I like the fact that the Marketing degree is more hands-on aproach rather than a theory-based approach that most G8 suscribe to. Also the fees are very much lower at AUD16,500/annum as compared to Umelb which is AUD25,000/annum!

Moreover, cost of living in Adelaide is much lower than Sydney or Melborne, and even Brisbane. In fact it is one of the cheapest place in Aus.

The best part?

LESSER ASIANS AS COMPARED TO SYDNEY AND MELB.

I'm not racist. I mean, I'ma Chinese too man. It is just that after 20yrs of seeing yellow skin and hearing Mandarin everywhere, well, its time for change!

Ok so this picture makes no sense, but we took this picture at Forum's Toys'r'us. Yes I know, I'm still a kid at heart.

I look fatter don't I? Even my hair looks shit.

Its the weekends!

The other day, I came out to a colleague. Not that it is any news-worthy, but the fact that I had to come out before she realised that I'm gay is shell shocking.

I never ever had to out myself to people; it was always assumed based on my looks and dressing.

The funny thing was that when I came out, my colleague remarked, "But i thought lesbians have like short hair and dress like a man.. you don't look like one leh."

LOL. Had she seen me with my shaved mohawk and suits, she might have thought differently.

But it brings up an interesting topic: Do all lesbians look like a man?

Thank God the answer is a big NO. Beacause it is easier to identify 'butches', they have long been associated with the word 'lesbians'.

On a totally non-gay related topic- tomorrow I'll be going to IDP with Estee and Jan to check out which Australian universities I'm eligible for.

Meanwhile I am considering studying in a private school here. This option sucks, and I might not be motivated to really study.

AH!!! OMG!!

Thank God for the weekends.. Nothing beats waking up when you feel like it, and just lazing around in bed, thinking about nothing except what to have for lunch.

Politics, anyone?

With all the hype surrounding polictical situations around the world right now, namely the great A, Thailand, Japan, Malaysia, it is hard not to get sucked into it.

For the record, I am a supporter of the democratic party, but I would have prefered Hilary Clinton over Barack Obama.

ON THE WAR ON IRAQ
I do however, suport Obama as an opponent of the Bush administration's policies on Iraq. Since the surge began, more than 1,000 American troops have died, and despite the improved security situation, the Iraqi government has not stepped forward to lead the Iraqi people and to reach the genuine political accommodation that was the stated purpose of the surge.

The Iraq war has lasted longer than World War I, World War II, and the Civil War. More than 4,000 Americans have died. More than 60,000 have been injured and wounded. The United States may spend $2.7 trillion on this war and its aftermath, yet we are less safe around the globe and more divided at home in the US.

Obama, if elected, would enact budget cuts in the range of tens of billions of dollars, stop investing in "unproven" missile defense systems and work towards eliminating all nuclear weapons.

“Here is the truth: fighting a war without end will not force the Iraqis to take responsibility for their own future. And fighting in a war without end will not make the American people safer.
So when I am Commander-in-Chief, I will set a new goal on day one: I will end this war. Not because politics compels it. Not because our troops cannot bear the burden- as heavy as it is. But because it is the right thing to do for our national security, and it will ultimately make us safer.”

—Barack Obama, Clinton, Fayetteville, North Carolina, March 19, 2008

McCain's goal, on the war in Iraq, would be that by 2013 most of the servicemen and women will have returned. The Iraq War will have been won, and Iraq will be a functioning democracy. McCain expects that by 2013, there will still be violence, but at a much-reduced level, and without American troops in a direct combat role.

ON ECONOMY
Currently under the Bush Administration, tax cuts are given to wealthy Americans, and NOT to middle class Americans. Which makes no sense to me at all.

Under Obama, he will provide tax cuts for working people (read: poor and mid class). McCain vowed to extend President Bush’s income tax cuts (for the wealthy) when they expire in two years, an idea Obama opposes. McCain also renewed his call for temporarily suspending the federal gas tax this summer, a proposal Obama has derided as a gimmick.

Here are the facts:
95% of Americans would have a tax cut under Obama's proposals.
100 million Americans would have NO tax cut under McCain's proposals.
Most Americans would have a larger tax cut under Obama than under McCain.

ON GAY RIGHTS:
Being a democratic party representative, you can expect, under Obama's administration:

-An expansion of Hate Crimes Statutes: In 2004, crimes against LGBT Americans constituted the third-highest category of hate crime reported and made up more than 15 percent of such crimes.

-Fight Workplace Discrimination: Barack Obama supports the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, and believes that our anti-discrimination employment laws should be expanded to include sexual orientation and gender identity.

-Promote LGBT Rights: Barack Obama supported legislation in the Illinois State Senate to prevent discrimination based on sexual orientation in housing and public accommodations.

-Support Full Civil Unions and Federal Rights for LGBT Couples: Barack Obama supports full civil unions that give same-sex couples equal legal rights and privileges as married couples. Obama also believes we need to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act and enact legislation that would ensure that the 1,100+ federal legal rights and benefits currently provided on the basis of marital status are extended to same-sex couples in civil unions and other legally-recognized unions. These rights and benefits include the right to assist a loved one in times of emergency, the right to equal health insurance and other employment benefits, and property rights. (If only he dared to go a mile further by proposing marriage instead of a better-but-unequal full civil union.)

-Oppose a Constitutional Ban on Same-Sex Marriage: Barack Obama voted against the Federal Marriage Amendment in 2006 which would have defined marriage as between a man and a woman and prevented judicial extension of marriage-like rights to same-sex or other unmarried couples.

-Repeal Don’t Ask-Don’t Tell: Barack Obama agrees with former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff John Shalikashvili and other military experts that we need to repeal the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy. The key test for military service should be patriotism, a sense of duty, and a willingness to serve. Discrimination should be prohibited. The U.S. government has spent millions of dollars replacing troops kicked out of the military because of their sexual orientation. Additionally, more than 300 language experts have been fired under this policy, including more than 50 who are fluent in Arabic.

-Expand Adoption Rights: Barack Obama believes that we must ensure adoption rights for all couples and individuals, regardless of their sexual orientation. He thinks that a child will benefit from a healthy and loving home, whether the parents are gay or not.

McCain? Well, he is a bigot and the only mention of anything GLBT-related issue on his website is "John McCain believes the institution of marriage is a union between one man and one woman." His vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin is also a known homophobe.

At the end of the day, whoever America chooses will have a direct and indirect impact on Singapore and globally, whether we like to admit it or even care about it or not. It is, afterall, the Big A, and a military and economic powerhouse you just can't ignore.

And the next president may impact Singapore's government ruling on GLBT matters here.

Don't you just laugh when people say that "YOUR PARENTS WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU"?

What a total bullshit..

I'm hating my father so much now, words can't even describe the anger I feel for him except I wish he is dead. I told Clara I won't even go for his funeral.

So its Clara's birthday today and we were having dinner at Billy Bombers at Century Square, when I brought up my degree plans. At the end of it all I asked him whether he could pay for it with his cpf. And guess what he said.. "i don't have enough money. i need to buy a flat and take care of myself in future."

I'm furious not because he wouldn't pay. But rather it was the fact that he brushed me off in just that one sentence. Like i didn't matter, like my future didn't matter. Am I not his daughter? Is it not important to every parent to see their child succeed in life?

And I'm not some kid who hates studying and just wanna waste her life away.

I have a goal, an aim in my life, and he should be proud of that fact.

I have decided to cut ties with him. It is final, regardless whether he change his mind on this whole damn fucked up situation.

And it begins with me changing my surname.
